On December 10, Belarus tested a new 9M318 missile near the border with Ukraine.
This was reported by Belarusian Gayun.
In several western and northern regions of Ukraine, an air raid warning was announced during the day because of this.
It is noted that the tests were carried out in the Olmanskoye swamp and the territory of the former Merlinsky aviation training ground in the southern part of Belarus.
In this area, until December 20, a new flight restriction zone is in effect, with flights prohibited at altitudes from the ground to 20 km.
The 9M318 missile is designed to destroy high-speed maneuverable aerodynamic targets (drones), tactical missiles of various types, helicopters and ground targets. It is a modernized element of the Buk-MB2 system.
Similar firing in the same swamp was carried out in February 2022, when the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus carried out two combat launches with the Tochka-U missile system as part of the Belarusian and Russian “Union Resolve” exercises at a range of 70 km, as now during firing from “ Buka.”
