Ukraine will receive 454 million dollars. USA from the World Bank for health sector development.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this today, December 10, in his Telegram channel.
“This will support the government’s efforts to prioritize funding under the medical guarantee program,” he emphasized.
According to Shmygal:
- the money will be provided as part of the THRIVE project, aimed at helping reform the health care system and strengthen its effectiveness in war conditions;
- The program is financed through the Government of Japan, the World Bank, and a grant from the URTF fund.
THRIVE is part of large-scale international support for Ukraine, which also covers education, transport, energy, the agricultural sector and other sectors affected by Russian aggression, Szmigal said.
I am grateful to the leadership of the World Bank, the Government of Japan and all partners for their important and timely support, he added.
