Taiwan’s military has set up emergency response centers and stepped up “combat preparedness training” in strategic locations.
China has deployed about 90 navy and coast guard ships off Taiwan, two-thirds of which are warships. Reuters reported this on Monday, December 9.
There are currently up to 90 Chinese Navy and Coast Guard ships in the East China and South China Seas.
In turn, the Taiwanese military set up emergency response centers and stepped up “combat readiness training” in strategic locations.
Notably, Taiwanese navy and coast guard boats will monitor Chinese ships.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense stressed that “any unilateral, inexplicable, or provocative actions could seriously affect peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, and are not accepted by the international community.”
Let’s recall that on October 1, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, confirmed the desire for “reunification” with Taiwan, calling the island an inviolable territory of China.
