A passenger on a plane flying from El Bajio, Mexico to Tijuana, tried to force the pilots to change course and fly to the United States. CBS News reports.
The Mexican airline Volaris operates a domestic flight – an Airbus A320 aircraft flies from El Bajio to Tijuana. During the flight, one of the passengers tried to hijack the plane and force the pilots to fly to the United States.
A man attacked a flight attendant and tried to enter the cockpit to hijack a plane bound for the United States. The attacker was stopped by the staff. Upon arrival, the passenger was handed over to the authorities.
The attacker is a 31-year-old Mexican. According to him, he tried to hijack the plane because of threats from unknown people. Allegedly, his close relative was kidnapped and, after flying out of El Bajio, he received death threats, warning him not to fly to Tijuana.
