The head of the presidential office believes that Ukrainians should not be afraid of the election rhetoric of Republicans.
The team of the newly elected US President Donald Trump is committed to a just peace in Ukraine. This is what the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said on Saturday, December 7, in a telethon.
So, Ermak commented on his trip to the United States, where he met with the Trump team, officials of the current administration and senators for two days.
“I met with the leading members of the future administration of President Trump, after that, our partners are studying our topics, many of them are deeply involved in the situation, they understand that this is a war of aggression, ” said Ermak.
He expressed the belief that “they are all committed to a just world,” but noted that Ukraine must continue to cooperate with the Trump team.
Commenting on the not-so-complimentary position of Vice President-elect JD Vance on Ukraine, Ermak said that the rhetoric heard during the election campaign does not necessarily correspond to the real position of the politician.
“Believe me… I cannot disclose all the details of our meetings But this is just the beginning, these were introductory meetings, but we definitely agreed to work, to work even before the inauguration,” said the OP leader.
Ermak also commented on President Vladimir Zelensky’s meeting with Trump and French leader Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
According to him, these trilateral negotiations are very positive and effective.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the Ukrainian delegation led by Ermak met with Trump’s choice for the position of National Security Adviser of the White House, Mike Waltz, and his representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
And on Thursday, Ukrainian media reported, citing sources, that Ermak met with newly elected Vice President JD Vance and Trump’s future national security adviser Mike Volz.
