Border guards will be given part of the Chernobyl zone.
This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 835/2024 of December 5, published on the website of the Office of the President.
The decree notes that:
- land plots 45 m wide along the state border line will be withdrawn from the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve;
- these plots with a total area of 695.2 hectares will be transferred for permanent use to military units of the State National Security Service for the construction, arrangement and maintenance of engineering and fortification structures, fences, border markers, border clearings and communications;
- the transfer of plots must take place within six months;
- The total area of the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve will be determined at 226,269.5 hectares.
Let us remember that Russian infidels were in the Chernobyl exclusion zone at the beginning of a full-scale invasion – from February 24 to March 31, 2022.
