For the first time in a long time, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned “ground truths,” although Moscow has lost control over part of its territories in the Kursk region.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian Federation does not plan to destroy the Ukrainian people, but peace in Ukraine is possible only if it renounces NATO membership and loses part of its territories. He said this in an interview with the controversial American journalist Tucker Carlson, published on the evening of Friday, December 6.

In particular, Lavrov said that for peace in Ukraine there should be no NATO, military bases and training with the participation of foreign troops. In addition, the West needs to consider the “ground realities” for the “Ukraine agreement.”

He also named another condition favorable for the Russian Federation.

“Many in the Russian Federation wanted to make the lifting of sanctions a condition of an agreement with Ukraine, but the country resisted them and became stronger,” Lavrov said.

In addition, he said that the Russian Federation does not intend to destroy the Ukrainian people, because they are “brothers of the people of Russia.”

During the 90-minute interview, Lavrov repeated several other Russian narratives and also spoke at length about Russia’s Oreshnik missile, noting that its test was a signal to the United States and expressing hope that this is serious in Washington.

It was previously reported that Tucker Carlson flew to Russia for an interview with Lavrov.

Let’s remember that President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine is preparing a document with conditions for a fair end to the war with Russia.
