The tremors were felt by residents of the cities of Ahvaz, Mesjed-Soleiman, Bavi, Hamidiye and Shushtar.
On December 5, an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in Khuzestan province in western Iran. At least 15 people were injured. Reuters reported this with reference to data from the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).
The epicenter of the tremors was at a depth of 10 km. The oil infrastructure was not damaged.
According to the Seismological Center of the Institute of Geophysics of the University of Tehran, cited by the Iranian news agency IRNA, 11 tremors were recorded in the area, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 5.6, and the weakest was 2.5.
The tremors were felt by residents of the cities of Ahvaz, Mesjed-Soleiman, Bavi, Hamidiye and Shushtar.
It will be remembered that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred near the Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa.
Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred in northern Greece off the coast of the Chalkidiki peninsula.
