Arthur Emelyanov is suspected of building a “business” in court decisions with other judges.
The court chose a preventive measure for the former deputy chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine Artur Emelyanov in the form of detention without bail until January 30, 2025. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported this on Wednesday, December 4.
It was established that the former judge, now a lawyer, was part of a criminal organization consisting mainly of judges, lawyers, arbitration managers, various court employees, etc.
They made “necessary” decisions for bribes, mainly in economic disputes. The organizer of the “business” – also a former high-ranking official of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine – illegally interfered with the distribution of cases and gave them exclusively to “his” judges, who exercised “will of customers .”
The judges put this process on for so long that they actually made it impossible for the court to make decisions in most cases without bribes.
Previously, the organizer was placed on the wanted list; he and several other participants in the criminal scheme were found on suspicion, including for the creation and participation in a criminal organization. Work is ongoing to identify and identify all those involved in the activities of this group.
The former representative of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine is suspected of participation in a criminal organization and participation in crimes committed by such an organization, and of accepting bribes. The penalty of these articles provides up to 12 years imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
Let’s recall that in March 2021, the High Council of Justice removed judge Artur Emelyanov from the position of judge of the Higher Economic Court for committing a “significant disciplinary offense.”
The former deputy chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine was detained on December 3. He is suspected of having, along with other judges, formed a “business” in court decisions.
