The head of the British Ministry of Defense won by a margin in polls by Conservative Party members on the subject of who could replace Boris Johnson as prime minister.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is the Conservative Party’s favorite for prime minister than Boris Johnson. This is confirmed by relevant polls, The Independent reported on Thursday, July 7th.

The publication states that the head of the Ministry of Defense has become a favorite of conservatives after he played a prominent role in Britain’s reaction to the war waged by Russia against Ukraine. Notably, Wallace defeated other contenders in a YouGov poll of conservatives on who they would vote for.

Survey participants were asked about who they would choose by asking them about different scenarios among different candidates. In all of Wallace’s scenarios, he won by a huge margin.

The former military and MP for Wire and Preston North, who played a prominent role in the UK’s response to the war in Ukraine, is also leading the likes in general, albeit by a narrower margin.

The media reported that Wallace was ahead of Liz Truss 48% to 29%, Penny Mordaunt 48% to 26%, Rishi Sunak 51% to 30% and Jeremy Hunt 58% to 22%.

The head of the Ministry of Defense leads the ranking with a wide range of candidates with 13%, Mordaunt with 12%and Sunak with 10%.

At the same time, it was followed by Liz Truss with 8%, Michael Gove and Dominic Raab with 7%, Tom Tugenhadt got 6%of the vote, Jerem Hunt and Nadhim Zahavi 5%and Sajid Javid 4%.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to step down.

It was also reported that Western media examined who could be Boris Johnson’s successor.
