Martial law in South Korea: political activities and protests are prohibited

After the introduction of martial law, the South Korean military command announced a ban on any political activity in the country. Yonhap reports.

The order, issued by South Korean Army Chief of Staff General Park Ahn-soo, bans all political activity, including protests. Parliament activities were also temporarily suspended.

Among other things, the order states that all media and publishers are under control, and that doctors on leave must immediately return to work within 48 hours.

Violators of martial law may be arrested or searched without arrest.

According to local media reports, the entrance to the parliament has been blocked in South Korea. Military equipment was seen on the streets of Seoul.

Earlier, the media reported that South Korea refused to sell arms to Ukraine.
