The country’s military leadership does not disclose the losses of the armed forces, explaining this by the need to hide this information from Russia.

Ukraine has lost less than 80 thousand military personnel in a full-scale war with the Russian Federation. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this on Monday, December 2, in an interview with Kyodo News.

He indicated that he could not reveal the exact numbers, but they were lower than those published by the Western media.

“Someone recently, I think the American press, gave information that 80 thousand Ukrainians died that I want to tell you no, less, less,” said Zelensky.

The President emphasized that we will specifically talk about the military, because the loss of the civilian population in the occupied territories is still unknown.

“For the most part, it was the civilian population during the occupation, there were civilians, military and law enforcement officers there, we don’t know how many of them died, how many were tortured in captivity,” he said. .

It is known that in February, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine has already lost 31 thousand troops in the conflict.

The Russian Federation does not disclose its war losses. According to the latest data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupation army has already lost more than 743 thousand soldiers.

Let’s recall that from February 24, 2022 to December 2, 2024, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine was approximately 743,920 people (1,790 per day).
