Kyiv has repeatedly said it cannot agree to any territorial concessions or a freeze on hostilities.
EU and NATO representatives should be involved in possible negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Sunday, December 1, at a press conference with the new head of the European Council, António Costa.
The Ukrainian leader explained that he wants to involve the EU and NATO in the negotiation process, because “Ukraine sees itself as part of the security system of these two blocs.”
According to the president, what will be the end of the war depends on what positions Ukraine will take in the negotiation process. Therefore, Zelensky emphasized, in the Victory Plan, Ukraine requested long-range weapons and an invitation to NATO.
At the same time, he emphasized that the most difficult question that needs to be resolved is what to do if “the person who will represent the Russian Federation” does not want peace and does not want to see Ukraine as an independent state.
President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin could attack again in a few years if the war is frozen without strengthening Ukraine.
Zelensky recently said that Ukraine’s entry into NATO could help end the hot war phase started by Russia. And conquered territories can be returned through diplomatic means.
