The northern branch of Friendship has been pumping Kazakh oil to Germany since February 2023 with a capacity of 2 million barrels.
In Poland, a leak was detected from the Druzhba oil pipeline in the Pniewa region of the Greater Poland Voivodeship near Poznan in western Poland. Pipeline operator PERN confirmed a leak and shut down the pipeline. Bloomberg reported this on Sunday, December 1.
At the moment, there is no information about the size of the leak and its possible consequences for oil supplies. However, it was indicated that there was no threat of an explosion due to the leak.
This section of the pipeline is used to connect PERN’s raw material base near Plock (a city in central Poland, near Warsaw) and two oil refineries in Germany.
“The Druzhba oil pipeline plays an important role in supplies to the Leuna and Schwedt oil refineries in Germany, which receive oil through the port of Gdansk and Kazakhstan,” the publication wrote.
The depressurization of the Garshino-Rostoshinsky underground low-pressure oil pipeline occurred in the Kurmanaevsky district of the Orenburg region of Russia, 7 km from the village of Garshino.
Let’s recall that in July, Hungary and Slovakia announced the cessation of oil supplies from the Russian company LUKOIL through Ukraine due to Kiev’s addition of the company to the list of sanctions. Hungary and Slovakia have asked the European Commission to start consultations on a trade agreement with Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the European Commission found no reason to worry about the termination of LUKOIL oil transit.
