To date, the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has been equipped with both main and backup high-voltage power lines.
On December 1, Ukrenergo repair teams repaired damage to the high-voltage line supplying electricity to the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The press service of Ukrenergo reported this on Sunday, December 1.
The line was cut as a result of enemy fire on November 30th. Restoration work began immediately after receiving the necessary permits from the military.
To date, the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has been equipped with both main and backup high-voltage power lines.
“Operating a nuclear power plant with one line is very dangerous, because the electricity supply to such a facility must be stable and its uninterrupted return under the control of Ukraine will guarantee the safe operation of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe,” said Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
Let’s remember that during the occupation the station experienced eight blackouts.
We remind you that on Thursday night Russian troops carried out a massive combined missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian energy sector. A total of 12 hits were recorded, mainly at fuel and energy sector facilities in different regions.
After that, the IAEA warned about a “significant risk” for Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
