Ankara will not allow “terrorists” to gain power on Syrian territory, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
Turkish authorities are not involved in the fighting between the Syrian army and anti-government forces in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said this, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday, November 30th.
He assured that Ankara will not allow “terrorists” to gain power on Syrian territory.
“We will not allow terrorists to build their own state on Syrian territory,” the minister said.
Fidan assured that Turkey is not participating in the conflict and will take measures regarding the new wave of refugees from Syria.
Let’s remember that this week the anti-government forces launched an offensive in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. They took control of several settlements and most of the city of Aleppo. This is their first offensive in five years against President Bashar al-Assad’s army and the Russian contingent.
In this regard, Assad immediately flew to Moscow. Media reported that Russia will provide more military aid to Syria to stop the advance of the rebels.
