Zaporozhye NPP today, November 30, at night for the third time in a month, lost power to one of the two external power lines connecting it to the unified energy system of Ukraine and necessary for its safe operation.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
If the station is disconnected from external power, another complete blackout will occur at the Zaporozhye NPP, creating a threat to radiation safety, the department notes.
It is noted that Ukrainian power engineers will begin resuming operation of the line as soon as the security situation resolves.
Only the return to Ukraine of control over the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant can ensure the safe operation of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. Every day the station is occupied brings the Zaporizhzhya NPP closer to disaster, noted Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
