The International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said on Friday that there may be options for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the country without being arrested, despite an existing arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for to him. It was reported by Reuters.
In this regard, Dick Schof explained that the Netherlands still needs to reconsider what it should do if the Prime Minister of Israel visits.
“The possible development of events where he could go to the Netherlands and not be arrested is acceptable, even within the framework of international law,” he added.
However, he did not specify how exactly Netanyahu could avoid arrest. Schof previously said that the Prime Minister of Israel may visit the international organization located in the Netherlands as a UN observer for chemical weapons.
France recently said it believes Netanyahu has immunity from ICC action because of Israel’s failure to sign the Rome Charter.
While Germany does not rule out the possible arrest of the Prime Minister of Israel on its territory.
