Eight children from the temporarily occupied territories of Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions and Crimea were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory. This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Friday, November 29.
“The returned children are from 6 to 16 years old some children have illnesses, so they are met in Ukraine with ambulances, there is a boy who, at the time of the Russian invasion, was in Oleshkovsky orphanage, the students were taken by the occupation authorities to the city of Skadovsk and the Russian Federation,” the ombudsman said.
Lubinets mentioned that seven children were returned in connection with the intermediary country Qatar. Another boy was returned through the humanitarian corridor.
Government bodies and public organizations will help families enroll their children in school, provide psychological and humanitarian assistance, and promote social integration.
We remind you that Ukraine managed to return 1002 children from Russian territory and temporarily occupied lands, but the Russian Federation forcibly expelled about 20 thousand more.
