Otar Berdenishvili explained that the reason for this action was the disruption of the country’s European integration by the Georgian authorities.
Georgia’s Ambassador to Bulgaria, Otar Berdenishvili, left his post in protest over the failure of the country’s European integration by the Georgian authorities. The Georgian diplomat wrote about it on the social network X.
Berdenishvili noted that during two decades of diplomatic activity, together with his colleagues, he actively participated in the Euro-Atlantic and European integration of Georgia.
“Our tireless efforts must not be undermined or compromised in any way,” Berdenishvili wrote.
He accompanied the message with a hashtag against violence against peaceful protesters and expressed his full solidarity with them.

As you know, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, said that the country decided to postpone accession negotiations with the European Union until the end of 2028.
After that, a spontaneous rally began in Tbilisi, accompanied by President Salome Zurabishvili for the first time. During the night, security forces sprayed the protesters with tear gas and water cannons, but they did not disperse.
