US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed a special envoy for the war in Ukraine.
It was retired General Keith Kellogg. Trump announced this on his social network Truth Social.
Trump noted that Kellogg had a distinguished career in the military and business, including serving in “very important positions” in national security during his first term.
He was with me from the very beginning! Together we will power the world and make America and the world safe again! – he emphasized.
Kellogg already held senior positions during the previous Trump administration, from 2017 to 2021. In particular, he was the chief of staff of the National Security Council and national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.
According to media reports, Kellogg put forward his plan to end the war in Ukraine, which includes:
- supplies of American weapons to Ukraine will only be provided that Ukraine agrees to peace negotiations with the Russian Federation;
- at the same time, the United States is ready to warn Moscow about the consequences of refusing negotiations, including increased support for Kyiv;
- freezing the collision line of the parties at their current positions.
