A Russian agent tried to burn down an electrical substation that supplies a military airfield and other strategic facilities in the region. The attacker turned out to be a 21-year-old local resident, who was remotely recruited by the Russian intelligence service in August 2024, when the young man wrote pro-Kremlin comments in the Telegram channels of the aggressor country. After completing the test tasks, the occupiers ordered the traitor to enter the territory of a key electrical substation in the Kirovograd region and set it on fire using a flammable mixture, and then stop the fire. The detainee has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
