Reuters said the experimental Russian missile used by Moscow to strike the Dnieper River was carrying dummy warheads.
The new ballistic missile that the Russian Federation recently attacked in the Dnieper has several warheads, but no explosives, and therefore caused little damage. Reuters reports this with reference to two high-ranking sources in the Ukrainian government.
Their words confirm the Kremlin’s own description of the use of weapons as a warning to the West after the removal of restrictions on long-term strikes on the territory of the aggressor country, the media wrote.
The two sources provided details about Russia’s new missile as Western experts try to learn more about what US officials say is an experimental medium-range missile.
Such munitions are typically designed to deliver long-range nuclear strikes against targets thousands of kilometers away.
One of the sources said the missile was carrying dummy warheads and described the damage as “relatively minor.”
“In this case (the rocket) had no explosives… There were no typical explosions, as we expected, but it was not very big,” added the second person.
Let’s recall that the Ukraine-NATO council at the ambassadorial level discussed the situation in Ukraine after Russia launched an experimental medium-range ballistic missile last week.
