Some Republicans have expressed disapproval of this move, strongly criticizing the current president’s request.
US President Joe Biden called on Congress to allocate an additional $24 billion to increase military support for Ukraine. This was reported by Politico.Pro.
The White House Office of Management and Budget has proposed including this bailout package to avoid a funding freeze by the next presidential administration.
Of the total amount of 24 billion dollars, eight billion is intended to finance the contracts of American companies for the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and another 16 billion should go to the replenishment of the stocks of the American military arsenal .
However, some Republicans have already expressed disapproval of this move, strongly criticizing the request.
“Joe Biden just gave away $4.7 billion in taxpayer dollars through unilateral ‘forgiveness’ loans to Ukraine. Congress should not give him a free gift to further sabotage President Trump’s peace talks with out the door. Any request by Biden for funding should be “denied” said Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, on the social media platform.
Earlier, Joe Biden made a statement in connection with honoring the victims of the Holodomor, in which he promised Ukraine additional support from Washington.
