The commander of the Russian military group South, Gennady Anashkin, was removed from his post due to the “situation in the Seversk direction,” according to the Z-military correspondent.
group of Russian troops south, operating in the Donetsk region, will be led by Lieutenant General Alexander Sanchik.
It was noted that Anashkin was removed from his position as part of a planned rotation.
Sanchik served as the commander of the 35th joint army army of the Eastern Military District, and in 2023 he served as the first deputy commander of the troops of the Eastern Military District.
Sanchik was born in 1966. In 1989 he graduated from the Tashkent Higher Tank Command School, in 2017 – from the Military Academy of the General Staff.
Russian group South created from units of the Southern Military District. For the past few weeks, they have been fighting in the area of the cities of Chasov Yar and Kurakhovo, as well as south and east of Seversky, which were successfully held by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The so-called Z-military correspondent says that Anashkin may be removed from his position because of the situation in the northern direction, as well as because of his reluctance to “bring the true state of affairs to the high command.”
We remind you that the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov said that the Russian army is building up its forces, and the invaders are creating new brigades.
