Unknown drones have appeared over American air bases in the UK.
The small UAVs flew over Lakenheath and Mildenhall bases in Suffolk in eastern England and Feltwell base in Norfolk from 20 to 22 November. The flight of unknown drones did not impact base residents or critical infrastructure. This was reported by The Guardian.
US Air Force European Command, which uses British bases, said it was unclear at this stage whether the drones should be considered hostile.
Britain’s Ministry of Defense declined to comment on security procedures but said it takes threats seriously and is taking tough action at defense sites. This also applies to security measures against UAVs.
Let us remind you that the other day the Bild publication reported that this week the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth entered the port of Hamburg, Germany. On the night of November 22, it was recorded that he was being followed by an unknown reconnaissance drone.
The German army included electronic warfare systems, but this did not help and the UAV soon disappeared. In Germany, a criminal case has already been opened regarding the surveillance.
