Ukraine may launch the next strike with long-range Western weapons on the Rostov region of Russia.
The region is home to at least four airports that are within range of Western missiles, although some are civilian. Rostov is the landing site for many troops, transported by large military aircraft, equipped, loaded onto buses and driven to occupied eastern Ukraine. This was reported by the American edition of The Wall Street Journal.
A blow to the region could be devastating and scatter a key springboard for the deployment of Russian troops, the article says.
It is noted that Russian airfields, ammunition depots and training grounds are no longer safe after the allies gave Ukraine permission to attack Western weapons deep into the aggressor country. There are hundreds of targets within range of long-range missiles.
The American Institute for the Study of War indicated almost 200 military targets within the range of ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles. ISW analyst George Barros said Ukraine could use intelligence data to attack headquarters and other location-changing facilities.
Let us recall that Western media reported that Ukraine could receive JASSM long-range cruise missiles from the United States. These weapons could significantly change the course of the conflict, since a significant part of Russian territory will be within the reach of these weapons.
