Generals in Ukraine should be on the front line, says President Vladimir Zelensky.
The head of state commented on the changes in approaches to management in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are outlined in the second paragraph of the internal stability plan of Ukraine and said that, among other things, they consist of reducing bureaucracy in the army. He made a corresponding statement about the generals in the trenches during the Third International Conference on Food Security Grain From Ukraine, reports the Office of the President.
And this is very important. The officer must see the soldier. A general who has not been in a trench is not a general for me, despite his experience. With all due respect, today the most difficult situation is on the front line, in the trenches. Generals must be in the trenches. This is what war is like,” he emphasized.
The President added that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, has been given the task of reducing bureaucracy in the army.
Zelensky also said that the transition to the corps-brigade system, which is proposed by the military command, is a reduction in the distance from the general to the soldier.
Let us recall that the day before, Ukrainian media reported that by the end of November this year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will present a reform concept, according to which the Ukrainian army will switch to the “corps-brigade” system.
