North Korean “technical advisers” arrived in Russian-occupied Mariupol.
CNN reports this today, November 22, citing a source in the Ukrainian security forces.
It is noted that in Mariupol the North Korean military were dressed in Russian uniforms. At the same time, they remain separate from Russian units: while other foreign fighters in the Russian ranks have mixed with Russian units, the North Koreans remain separate – with their own barracks, food, music and films.
The CNN source also said that recent Ukrainian missile attacks on Russian territory targeted a senior North Korean general, but it remains unclear whether he was killed.
In addition, the speaker of OTU “Kharkov” Yevgeny Romanov, in a commentary to CNN, confirmed that North Korean troops were spotted in the Kharkov region.
“I can confirm to you that, according to radio intercepts, North Korean units were spotted in the Kharkov region,” he noted.
Another Ukrainian military commander of the combined unit of the 153rd separate mechanized brigade, Nazariy Kishak, also confirmed that military personnel from the DPRK are already in the Kharkov region.
I see that they are breaking up into units, strengthening their combat units, accumulating a small number (of forces) on the front line,” Kishak said. “They are waiting for the weather to worsen, because for the enemy this is the best time to launch assault operations.
