The first strike should take place in the direction of Kharkov, and after 3-4 days the offensive should begin in the direction of Sumy.
Russia planned to launch an offensive operation to capture the cities of Kharkov and Sumy in early June. But thanks to the actions of the Defense Forces, the Russian plan failed. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with the words of a source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, November 22.
The Russians completed their offensive plan by the end of May. The offensive was to take place in the direction of Sumy and Kharkov from June 1 to June 15.
For the offensive operation, according to the source, Russia planned to involve two army corps and one army. Thus, the conquerors moved about 46 thousand soldiers in the Belgorod area, and 23 thousand in the direction of Sumy.
The first strike should take place in the direction of Kharkov, and after 3-4 days the offensive should begin in the direction of Sumy, moving deeper into the territory of Ukraine.
Thanks to intelligence information, the Defense Forces were able to thwart the Russian plan: several Ukrainian brigades were transferred to the first line of defense, and then to the state border. The Russians then began their offensive, but were unable to break through the first line of defense.
After the Russian army was disorganized in the battles in the Kharkov region, the Russian command focused on the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions.
We remind you that ISW analysts say that the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation continues – Ukrainian soldiers have advanced north of Sudzha. However, in the Glushkovsky district there is a certain calm.
