The United States of America was informed by Russia that an “experimental missile” had struck Ukraine.
The United States learned about the launch of the Oreshnik ballistic missile along the Dnieper 30 minutes before the launch. This weapon was based on the Russian model of the RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile. Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh said this at a briefing.
So, I can confirm that Russia has indeed launched an experimental medium-range ballistic missile,” she said.
Earlier, a representative of the Russian dictator Putin, Dmitry Peskov, in a commentary to Russian media, stated that Moscow warned Washington about the missile launch because of the nuclear risk reduction mechanism that maintains constant communication between the Russian Federation and the United States. This was done through channels operating in automatic mode, in particular, through the Russian National Center for Nuclear Risk Reduction.
Let us remind you that Ukraine became the first country in the world to be attacked by an intercontinental ballistic missile. So, on November 21, the enemy struck the Dnieper with this type of weapon.
Subsequently, Russian dictator Putin announced that the Russian army had fired with the latest medium-range Oreshnik missile. This was the first launch of this type of rocket.
President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russians have made Ukraine their testing ground and called on the international community for a tough reaction.
