The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported suspicions on a law enforcement officer who violated traffic rules in an official vehicle and resulted in the death of a person in Kherson. The State Bureau of Investigation reported this on its website on Thursday, November 21.
The accident occurred at the end of September 2024. The law enforcement officer was driving a service vehicle on a secondary road. At an unregulated intersection, he failed to yield to a passenger vehicle driving along the main road and crashed into it. The driver of the car, a resident of Kherson, died on the spot.
The law enforcement officer was informed about a suspected violation of road safety rules, which resulted in the death of the victim (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The suspect faces up to eight years with the removal of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
