The word “manifest” was searched nearly 130,000 times on the Cambridge Dictionaries website, making it one of the most searched words in 2024.
“Manifesting is the practice of using techniques such as visualization and affirmation to help you imagine achieving what you want, with the belief that this will increase the likelihood of it happening,” according to the Cambridge Dictionary.
The use of this definition of the word has become increasingly popular due to the rise of “manifesting influencers” promoting the practice on social media. This popularity led to the definition being added to the Cambridge Dictionary in May 2023.
Meanwhile, the Collins dictionary chose the noun “brat” as the word of 2024. US presidential candidate Kamala Harris often uses it.
