Germany began preparing for a possible war against Russia and was considering the option of capturing the Iron Dome system.
German authorities are considering the possibility of capturing the Iron Dome for Germany against the backdrop of Russia’s war against Ukraine, which is 1,500 kilometers from Germany’s borders. On Wednesday, July 6, the BILD report.
It noted that Chancellor Olaf Scholz had approved a special fund of 100 billion euros for the German armed forces, designed to protect the country. The disadvantage for Germany is that, as BILD points out, the Iron Dome was designed for an attack scenario from about 70 kilometers away. In this case, the attacker is already in the country.
However, there is a similar alternative system Arrow 3 (Arrow 3), which can bring down even Russia’s nuclear missiles. It is a $ 1 million hypersonic missile made by Israel and the United States. According to the manufacturer, the Arrow 3 can intercept a nuclear missile at a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers – even outside the atmosphere in space.
Recall, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said that Kyiv wants to buy the Iron Dome missile defense system from Israel.
Earlier, Israel rejected a U.S. request to allow Berlin to provide Ukraine with anti-tank missiles made in Germany using Israeli technologies and licenses.
