The British government noted that these funds are its country’s contribution to the G7 loan, for which Ukraine will be given $50 billion.
London announced on Tuesday, November 19, its intention to allocate 9.5 million for the purchase of attack and reconnaissance UAVs for Ukraine. This was reported to the UK Ministry of Defence.
“The government is announcing additional military support of £7.5 million ($9.5 million) for the procurement of new attack and surveillance drones,” the statement said.
The drones will be transferred to Ukraine through a coalition of countries led by the UK and Latvia that are jointly buying drones for Kyiv.
The British government also announced in October that the UK would provide a £2.26 billion military loan to Ukraine to purchase essential military equipment.
“The UK has announced a £2.26 billion loan to Ukraine, secured by proceeds from sanctioned Russian sovereign assets,” the government said.
The British authorities noted that these funds are the UK’s contribution to the G7 loan, where Ukraine will be given $50 billion from the G7 countries for military, budget and recovery needs.
As we have already written, the UK has allocated an additional 120 million pounds sterling ($155 million) for the needs of the coalition of maritime capabilities to protect the grain corridor in the Black Sea.
