The Russian weapons arsenal is located near the city of Karachev – about 130 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
For the first time, the Ukrainian military attacked Russian territory with American ATACMS ballistic missiles. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a source in the Defense Forces on Tuesday, November 19.
The missiles reportedly hit a military facility near the city of Karachev in the Bryansk region.
“In fact, the ATACMS was used for the first time to strike the territory of the Russian Federation. The strike was carried out on an object in the Bryansk region, it was successfully hit,” the source said.
The city of Karachev is located not far from Bryansk and about 130 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Earlier it became known that on the night of November 19 in the Bryansk region the 67th arsenal of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense was attacked. Videos of massive fires have surfaced on social networks. Later, information about the attack on the arsenal was confirmed by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andrey Kovalenko, artillery shells are stored in the arsenal, including ammunition from the DPRK. In addition, there are UABs, anti-aircraft missiles and ammunition for MLRS.
