In the Dnepropetrovsk region, the leader of a gang of racketeers was detained for demanding money from a military man.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on November 18.
As investigators found out, the racketeers demanded money from entrepreneurs, and if they refused, they kidnapped them, tortured them and threatened to kill them. In particular, it is known that $2.5 million was “knocked out”. from a local entrepreneur who is now serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military man was kidnapped in the middle of the road while he was on his way to work, law enforcement officers say. Then they took me to a forest plantation, beat me and threatened me. The man was subsequently imprisoned and, after being tortured, sent to look for money that he was supposed to give to the suspects.
According to a LIGA.net source in law enforcement agencies, we are talking about Yuriy Prishedko, a deputy of the Podgorodnensky city council of the Dneprovsky district of the Dnepropetrovsk region. A deputy was detained during another military death threat.
