On the morning of November 17, soldier Natalya Grabarchuk destroyed an enemy cruise missile using an Igla MANPADS. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is said to be his first combat launch and first hit. Natalya completed training courses at the training center lasting five months and mastered various types of man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
“When the enemy missile was in front of me, I threw away all emotions and worries, I made hundreds of training launches in simulators And then the first missile of the battle hit!.. MANPADS weigh about 18 kilos, and the responsibility is also heavy on me. I’m very glad that I succeeded,” Grabarchuk emphasized and noted that her mobile fire group included female soldiers.
The General Staff added that in civilian life Natalya was a preschool teacher. Since 2021, he is an anti-aircraft gunner in the anti-aircraft missile unit of the Galicia-Volyn radio-technical brigade of the West air command.
