At a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Tuesday, new sanctions against the Russian Federation, in particular restrictions on its “shadow fleet”, will be discussed.
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has urged European leaders against making new phone calls to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, reports European reality.
Valtonen called on Europe’s allies to act with restraint towards the Kremlin.
“The most important thing is that we understand that we should not now reach another race for attention in the Kremlin. It will not help if the heads of state of Europe make coordinated or uncoordinated phone calls to Putin,” said he said in an interview with ARD Europe. magazine.
According to the minister, a coordinated response is needed – not only in the United States, but, above all, in Ukraine.
Valtonen also said that at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Tuesday, new sanctions against the Russian Federation, in particular, restrictions on its “shadow fleet” will be discussed. According to the Finnish minister, it is not only about avoiding sanctions that have already been imposed, but also about destroying the environment of his region.
Let’s remember that the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the latest Russian attack against Ukraine proved the ineffectiveness of telephone diplomacy.
