The air force showed how a female soldier destroyed an Igla MANPADS cruise missile on the morning of November 17.
For Natalya Grabarchuk this was the first combat launch and the first hit. Natalya completed training courses at a training center lasting 5 months and mastered various types of portable air defense systems.
In civilian life, Grabarchuk was a teacher in a preschool educational institution.
When the enemy missile appeared in front of me, I threw away all emotions and worries. Made hundreds of training launches on simulators. And here – the first combat one and on target! MANPADS weigh about 18 kilograms, and the responsibility also weighs on us. I’m very glad that I succeeded. After the combat work, I gave vent to my emotions a little. Our mobile fire team consists of female soldiers. We make every effort to achieve results, we give all our strength,” said Natalya.
Since 2021, she has been an anti-aircraft gunner in the anti-aircraft missile unit of the Galicia-Volyn radio-technical brigade of the West air command.
