The official, violating the norms of the previously concluded agreements, irrationally and without justification entered into additional agreements.
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the ex-director of the department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the official “wrote” almost 94 million hryvnias in penalties for overdue contracts with the Lviv businessman. This was reported on Friday, November 15, by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
The message does not mention the name of the “Lviv businessman,” but judging by the description, it is about Igor Grinkevich.
Allegedly, the suspect entered into agreements with business companies for more than 1.5 billion hryvnias. The companies have to deliver military clothes to the defense department on time. But the businesses were technically unable to fulfill the order in a timely manner.
Then the businessmen turned to the former director of the department of the Ministry of Defense to help move the fine and make it smaller. The official entered into additional agreements that extended the delivery time for the goods. Thus, fines for overdue contracts decreased from almost 98 million Hryvnia to 4.5 million Hryvnia.
Alternatively, the court specified the amount of bail for the former official – 50 million Hryvnia.
We remind you that on December 29, 2023, Igor Grinkevich was detained by employees of the State Bureau of Investigation. He is one of the largest suppliers to the Ministry of Defense. In January, the department terminated its contracts with Grinkevich.
As you know, in July of this year, prosecutors brought another case against Igor Grinkevich to court. He tried to bribe one of the heads of the State Bureau of Investigation. The businessman offered the official a bribe of 500 thousand dollars.
The Grinkevich case was sent to court
