After Ashakhbar’s resignation, other NSC ministers may join him, especially the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Netherlands, Judith Oytermark.
In the Netherlands, the four parties in the governing coalition will meet on November 15 for an emergency meeting amid a political crisis after an attack on Israeli football fans last week led to the resignation of the government. Politico reported it.
It was previously known about the resignation of the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands, Nora Ashakhbar. The reason was allegedly racist comments directed at him during a government meeting on Monday, when the violence in the Dutch capital was discussed.
As is known, Ashakhbar, who was nominated from the centrist New Social Contract (NSC) party, is of Moroccan origin. Dutch officials blamed the attacks on Israeli fans on migrants, mainly of Arab and Muslim origin.
As the media wrote after Ashakhbar’s resignation, according to local media reports, other NSC ministers may join him, including the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Netherlands, Judith Oytermark.
Pro-Palestinian activists opposed the Amsterdam protest ban
With the coalition government at risk of collapse, representatives of its four parties plan to hold a crisis meeting tonight at the residence of non-party Prime Minister Dick Schoof.
The Dutch opposition supported Ashakhbar and called for the publication of details of the government meeting, where racist remarks were allegedly made.
We remind you that recently there were riots in Amsterdam against the backdrop of a match with the participation of the Israeli football team. Unknown people attacked fans from Israel in the street who came to a match between football clubs Ajax and Maccabi (Tel Aviv).
New anti-Semitic protests have reportedly broken out in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam on the evening of Wednesday, November 13, police detained dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters. They protested a ban on demonstrations imposed because of violence against Israeli soccer fans last week.
