Norway will finance the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment.
Oslo will join the so-called Danish support format – direct financing of production in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated this following a meeting with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere and Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gramm. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this on November 15 on Telegram.
The minister emphasized that this will allow the faster production and supply of necessary weapons for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, he did not specify how much the Norwegian authorities expect to invest in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
Umerov also noted that he had agreed with representatives of the Norwegian government on a new format of cooperation – the “Norwegian model.” This cooperation implies a new model for investing in Ukrainian defense technology companies. He promised to reveal the details later.
Let us recall that Norway, together with other countries, provided funding that allowed Romania to send the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. NOK 1.4 billion was allocated for this assistance.
