The Polish Ministry of Defense accused Ukrainians of “short memory” and criticized Zelensky.
Polish Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh said that the Ukrainians had “forgotten about the help provided by Poland.” The publication tvn24.pl writes about it.
In a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he told him “how much Poland has done and how much it has helped Ukraine,” noting that Ukrainians have a “short memory.”
Warsaw was angry that, according to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, it appeared that “Poland is not doing everything possible.” Kosiniak-Kamysh emphasized that at the beginning of the war, Poland actively transferred military equipment and organized humanitarian aid.
“It cannot be said that Poland is not doing everything possible. Poland has done and continues to do everything possible. But there is a limit that I will never cross. The limit of aid to Ukraine is a matter of security for Poland. If The transfer of some equipment threatens the security of our state, I will not give this equipment,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Kosinyak-Kamysh also accused Zelensky of trying to “involve other countries in direct participation in the conflict with Russia,” but admitted that such actions are natural to a certain extent.
“But we have our own strategy, we have our own raison d’être. Yesterday I spoke with the Secretary General of NATO about the shooting of missiles. I believe that this will be possible if there is a common decision of the entire alliance, but there is no such decision now, to shoot missiles at Russia Therefore, no NATO country should do it alone,” summed up the Polish Defense Minister.
Let’s recall that the previous President Vladimir Zelensky said that Poland did not transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine, despite a preliminary agreement.
Polish President Andrzej Duda responded that the country is ready to consider the transfer of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine if NATO approves the decision to redeploy Western aircraft to Polish air bases.
