Law enforcement officers detained dozens of people who, despite the ban, held an anti-Israeli rally in the capital.
In Amsterdam on the evening of Wednesday, November 13, police detained dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters. They violated a ban on demonstrations imposed because of violence against Israeli soccer fans last week, The Times of Israel reported.
It was noted that pro-Palestinian protesters once again took to the streets of the city and shouted anti-Israeli slogans, in particular, “Amsterdam says no to genocide.”
Police detained most of the protesters after they refused to leave, corralled them – mostly peacefully – into buses and chased them out of the square.
The anti-Israeli rallies come as the Netherlands is still recovering from violence in Amsterdam last week, when unknown assailants attacked Israeli fans attending a match between Ajax Avia and Maccabi in the street on the night of November 8 in the Dutch capital.
On the night of November 11, more chaos occurred when dozens of vandals, shouting anti-Semitic slogans, attacked cars and set fire to a tram in Amsterdam.
