Ukraine negotiates with Great Britain on the education of Ukrainian students.
Currently, Kyiv is negotiating with London to train 5-7 Ukrainian students every year. These young people will then be able to occupy positions in the civil service in Ukraine. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK Valeriy Zaluzhny stated this at the annual general meeting of the European Business Association, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to him, this project will ensure that in 20 years Ukraine will have completely different officials, a completely different attitude to the implementation of laws and to business.
Zaluzhny noted that the British elite “almost managed to convince” that the education of Ukrainian officials would “guaranteed the preservation of their investments.” Thus, future Ukrainian ministers, prime ministers, regional leaders and even the future president will be able to receive education.
The ambassador added that the British Parliament is considering lifting some legislative restrictions on direct investment in weapons production in Ukraine. Zaluzhny is confident that the decision will be positive, because London is interested in modernizing its Armed Forces with the help of Ukrainian defense technologies.
Among other possible areas of British investment in Ukraine, Zaluzhny named energy security and the IT sector.
Let us recall that in September the Ministry of Education announced that from 2025 it is planned to introduce a three-year specialized secondary education for schoolchildren after the ninth grade. Thus, the duration of schooling will increase by a year. The project should be fully operational from 2027.
