A Ukrainian drone attacked an oil depot near the city of Stary Oskol, one of the tanks caught fire. No one was injured in the incident. This was said by the Governor of the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reports Radio Liberty.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on Tuesday night Russian air defenses “shot down 13 Ukrainian drones,” nine of them in the Belgorod region, two each in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. Authorities in the Bryansk region reported no injuries or fatalities.
Ukrainian drones have already attacked an oil depot in the Stary Oskol urban district in June. Governor Gladkov even reported about “the fire and the absence of casualties.” In March, a drone attack was reported on the Belgorodnefteprodukt oil depot.
Ukraine’s drone attacks on oil refineries, oil depots and oil terminals have become more frequent this year. According to BBC Russian Service estimates, since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have attacked oil refineries and infrastructure in Russia at least 64 times.
Reuters counted 13 attacks on Russian oil infrastructure in June-August.
