Russian troops apparently shot at least two unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war at point-blank range.
The Russians committed a war crime in the Kursk region of Russia. The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinets, has already sent letters to the UN and the Red Cross asking them to intervene in the situation. The Ombudsman announced this on November 11 in Telegram.
He also called on the international community to immediately respond to this act of brutality in order to stop Russian aggression.
Lubinets stressed that prisoners of war must always be protected, including from acts of violence. He added that the Russians had once again committed a war crime and violated the Geneva Convention and international humanitarian law.
How many more lives must be lost before the world can act? Russia must be held accountable for every crime and every broken life,” the commissioner said.
Let us remind you that on October 23, during the attack on Selidovo, the Russians captured three Ukrainian fighters, and after some time they shot them. And on November 1, during the assault on the fortifications of the Defense Forces in the same Pokrovsky direction, the occupiers killed three more prisoners of war with automatic weapons.
