The attacker had to scout out the coordinates of the fortified areas, artillery firing positions and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The security service detained an FSB agent in the Sumy region. The man tried to collect and transfer to the Russians the locations of Ukrainian defenders defending Ukraine’s northern border with the Russian Federation. The SBU press service reported this on Monday, November 11.
The person involved is a 50-year-old local resident. The FSB recruited him through an old acquaintance who was now fighting in Ukraine as part of the Russian armed forces.
The agent is supposed to reconnoiter the coordinates of fortified areas, artillery firing positions and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defending Ukraine’s border with Russia. If they received the current geolocations of the Defense Forces, the invaders planned to attack them from the air, with missiles and kamikaze drones.
The counterintelligence of the SBU took active action and detained the traitor in advance at the border of the Shostka region. The detainee’s mobile phone was confiscated, on which he was supposed to send an intelligence “report” to the FSB in the form of voice messages.
Security Service investigators informed the man of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law.
The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
We would like to remind you that earlier the SBU detained a Russian agent in the Donetsk region who was delivering the locations of the Defense Forces to the Russians and expected the occupation of Kramatorsk.
