A new honorary consulate of Ukraine has opened its doors in the Turkish city of Adana. Ukrainian diplomat Vasyl Bodnar announced this on Saturday, November 9.
The head of the consulate is a businessman and activist, Turkish citizen Omer Sakaraya, who actively supports Ukraine’s fight against the Russian aggressor.
“From the beginning of the mass invasion, he supported Ukraine, worked to represent the country in the region and helped build interregional cooperation,” Bodnar wrote.
He added that representing the interests of Ukraine, protecting the rights of our citizens, developing interregional cooperation, expanding business connections are the first list of tasks of the honorary consul.
Adana is a large industrial and industrial center of Turkey with a population of more than 2.5 million inhabitants, including a large Ukrainian community.
